Freedom and Liberty are often spoken about but rarely never fully understood. As time passes and generations come and go so has the fervor for Freedom and Liberty so much its barely kept a flame. In our age we truly face a precipice that will change the world forever. Whether that change is for the Good or the Bad ultimately is decided upon our understanding of Freedom and Liberty. If we choose to go against our Nature we as a free people will ultimately be enslaved to powers never seen before.
I believe the problem ultimately lies with the individual, although not completely their fault for reasons I'll bring up later, not being able to critical think about the beliefs and conviction they hold to be true. Mark Twain talked about how people's beliefs and convictions are never truly examined and often come about second-handed from people whom themselves have not examined their own beliefs and convictions themselves often coming from figures of authority. This creates a cycle of diminishing substance of knowledge like the game telephone where you started with a word and at the end of the game it is completely different. This is why it is so important to examine such things on the individual level rather than just relying upon someone else. Becoming educated is paramount to stopping the reliance of knowledge from other people. George Washington Carver said that the key to Freedom is that of education. I want the reader to get the basics of freedom and Liberty which I believe fall under the three main categories of history, economics, and philosophy. Today's age is of information. There is so much of it and all easily accessible to pretty much everyone. Although this might be seen as a good thing what is missing from this abundance of information is something this is bygone; WISDOM! We can have all the information in the world but would be rendering useless if it were not for wisdom. My goal is to provide the reader with enough knowledge and warning to ignite their own flame of liberty that embers deep down in their soul! |
"In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing." - Mark Twain
