EDUCATION
"Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom"

A main focus of Ideas of Freedom and Liberty is the education of the principles and foundations of Freedom. If people want to be free they must first educate themselves of the nature of Freedom. As every animal on earth has their own "nature" as to how it interacts with its physical world so does Mankind. Our Freedom is deducted from our own "nature". Mankind's purpose is to figure out that nature in a way that allows for the flourishment of our species. History shows us that our species thrives only when Mankind is free. When every one individual is able to freely choose their own actions as they see best fit and to either suffer or benefit from their consequences of such actions to meet one's ends have the conditions of Freedom have been met in a nutshell. Before we continue to open that nutshell and see the true beauty of freedom I must address the current state of our education system.
Public education has failed us... for a reason!
Our monopolistic public education system has produced disastrous results. Disastrous for Freedom, but very beneficial to the State. Beneficial to the State because the system produces mindsets of conformity and obedience. Disastrous to Freedom because producing mindsets of conformity and obedience contradicts critical thinking skills needed for a free society. This has been done INTENTIONALLY to undermine the nuclear family and our freedoms! Our not so modern day monopolistic education system is modeled after the Prussia's education system.
But what shocks is that we should so eagerly have adopted one of the very worst aspects of Prussian culture: an educational system deliberately designed to produce mediocre intellects, to hamstring the inner life, to deny students appreciable leadership skills, and to ensure docile and incomplete citizens - all in order to render the populace "manageable."
To better understand what has happened we must understand why Prussia had originally developed such a system. After being defeated by Napoleon at the battle of Jena in 1806 the Kingdom of Prussia concluded that the defeat was caused by insubordinate soldiers. They believed they lost because their soldiers where not following orders that they knew would get them directly killed. The leaders of Prussia saw this insubordination as the ultimate factor in their defeat and crafted an education system that would eliminate such insubordination. By this Prussian compulsory education system was created to benefit the State, not the individual, by "educating" it's subjects to be completely mindlessly obedient to the State so if orders where made, by which would get you directly killed, their subjects would willingly follow the orders to their deaths! Unfortunately, America has adopted this style of education and has caused disastrous results not only for freedom but for the intellectual development of children and young adults!
Making this point is crucial. It stands here to make you second guess yourself. Chances are you are product of such a system. How confident are you defining what freedom really is? How well do you really know your history?
Bottom line is we were never really taught about freedom. I'm talking about the true philosophical ideas of freedom. What astonishes me the most about freedom is how complex but yet so simple it actually is and whether we like it or not we are born a free species by our nature. As a species we need to come to grips with this reality and come together as one of many individuals and realize that freedom is our only salvation. It our species common bond among every human to recognize each other's freedom that make ours species prosper. What follows is a basic synopsis of how freedom works... in a nut shell! Do you have to courage to |
The idea of centralized, government-controlled education was imported into this country from Prussia in 1843 by Horace Mann the Secretary of the Massachusetts Board of Education, who believed that Americans could adapt the Prussian system to American needs. It had everything our statist control-freaks wanted: government education of teachers in state seminaries; a state directed curriculum; state-approved textbooks; compulsory school attendance; truant officers; and obedient parents. Toward the end of the 19th century, the system became the perfect means to indoctrinate children to become the obedient subjects of the growing industrial-government establishment.
