"There are rights which it is useless to surrender to the government, and which government have yet always been found to invade. There are the rights of thinking, and publishing our thoughts by speaking or writing; the right of free commerce; the right of personal freedom."
Most believe people theses rights, which Jefferson speaks of, are still considered rights under our government. Those who believe this are gravely mistaken for, as Jefferson suggested, government has yet again found away to invade such rights. Not so much the rights of under the 1st Amendment but of the right of free commerce. If you find yourself in disagreement with my statement then look no farther than the Federal license to produce and sell peanuts in the United States. If we had the right of free commerce then it doesn't matter what I'm producing or selling within my state. If we had the right of free commerce then I wouldn't have to go to the government and ask that I may produce/sell peanuts. If this were free commerce then I would simply begin shop without permission from the state...............
We the People need to declare as, one people, our right to free commerce....
